twentyone

Yesterday was my 21st birthday guyssssssssss! A few of my good friends and I went to Asia Nine in DC for drinks and food and all that jazz.
I was a little excited about getting the "FIRST LEGAL SIP OF ALCHOL" picture, and then after that I wasn't too concerned about taking photos. Now I wish I had taken more.
I've also been attempting to experiment with color more. Black and white seems to be my "uniform" lately, so I'm trying to throw more colors into the mix. Red and Chartreuse, in my eyes, look very interesting together, and also a bit jarring. I love it! My lipstick is Russian Red by Mac and I highly recommend it. It stays on pretty well but for some reason, of all nights, it didn't really stay on for too long, so you can only really see the true color in this picture. Just my luck!

It was a fun night, low key night. As this post comes to a close, I just want to take the opportunity to say that I'm eternally grateful for my friends. I've never been one to have a ton of friends, but the friends I do have mean so much to me. I can honestly say that I've always tried my best to keep things afloat. That may be one of the few things I'm good at.

So in case you haven't noticed, most of the country seems to covered in Satan's ice cream (SNOW). Right now there is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet of snow on the ground, which is insane and highly abnormal for the Washington DC area! As a result of being snowed in and not being in school AND only working part time, I've made some jewelry! I'm pretty inept when it comes to DIY type projects, so this is a big/little accomplishment for me! One of the pieces I made was an earring just like this one from La Dama. I plan on adding some thicker, longer chains to it in the future. As for now, I'm pretty pleased with myself.

RIP

There's really not much more that can be said that hasn't already been said. He was truly a revolutionary designer and artist. I've always loved how he was able to marry art and fashion so seamlessly and beautifully. He will be missed.

it's a new decade

Happy New Year! Seven days later...

Anyway, one of my new years resolutions is to take this blog into a different direction. I'm not sure HOW I'm going to do so. At the very least, I'm certainly going to post more! I'm taking this semester off to sort of clear my head and re-prioritize my life, and I think that posting here more would be very (forgive me for sounding corny) therapeutic. Plus, I'll actually have the time and energy to!
I was snapped by Brian from DIRTY RICHMOND again at the Dirty December house show/ benefit. Also in this picture is my buddy Adrian from VCUstyle. PLEASE check out both Brian & Adrian's blogs, you certainly won't be sorry. They're both great guys and fantastic bloggers and I'm proud that I've gotten the chance to know them.

Here are some more pictures from the party, taken by the lovely Cosima. What a fantastic night! Oh Richyrich, how I will miss thee :/

This man never ceases to amaze me. His past collections are still as relevant and breathtaking as his present collections.
