it's a new decade

Happy New Year! Seven days later...

Anyway, one of my new years resolutions is to take this blog into a different direction. I'm not sure HOW I'm going to do so. At the very least, I'm certainly going to post more! I'm taking this semester off to sort of clear my head and re-prioritize my life, and I think that posting here more would be very (forgive me for sounding corny) therapeutic. Plus, I'll actually have the time and energy to!
I was snapped by Brian from DIRTY RICHMOND again at the Dirty December house show/ benefit. Also in this picture is my buddy Adrian from VCUstyle. PLEASE check out both Brian & Adrian's blogs, you certainly won't be sorry. They're both great guys and fantastic bloggers and I'm proud that I've gotten the chance to know them.

Here are some more pictures from the party, taken by the lovely Cosima. What a fantastic night! Oh Richyrich, how I will miss thee :/

LAWL. I got my picture taken by DIRTY RICHMOND a while ago and the picture was finally posted. I'm really flattered, but wow, this has to be the worst picture of me EVAR. Running late to class on a moderately hot day with my hair pulled back? You bet. Next up?! The Sartorialist? Jak & Jil? I can dream :)

I wish I had a picture of the cute buttons going down the back.

Also, I DON'T KNOW WHO/WHAT TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN! Any suggestions?

My homie G Adrian from VCUstyle

DIRTY RICHMOND is a kick ass new blog chronicling Richmond (but really, mainly VCU) street style. There have been a few Richmond street style blog attempts in the past, but ultimately, they were either shut down or were neglected. Hopefully, this one will stay afloat! I'm so glad my fellow classmates look so fly.

I will make a proper fashion week post soon, I have too much to say. Spring collections seem to always be my favorites.

Every Night, RVA Magazine vol. 5 is. 2

RVA is the arts / culture magazine for Richmond. Usually has great articles, and almost always has a little fashion editorial at the end of every issue featuring clothes from various local boutiques.

The most recent editorial makes me want to kick myself for not being in Richmond for the summer. It epitomizes summertime in the river city. Instead, I'm stuck at home (NoVa, the suburbs of DC for you N00bz), and workworkworking. At least I'm not as broke as I was before.

Oh, summer.

old as dirt...

Temperley for Target jacket/cape, f21 white shirt tuxedo pleat shirt (can't tell in this pic), Lux skinny jeans, vintage scarf, Ray Ban Wayfarers, Urban Outfitters bag & ballet flats

Well, maybe "old as dirt" might be pushing it (2007, hay hay)... But I miss that jacket and scarf dearly.

This set of photos was from freshman year. It's hard to believe I just finished my second year of college.

fisheye + experimentation with light

These are from a few weeks ago. Now I'm home for the summer, missing Richmond. This is what we do before we go out (or instead of going out, because we're THAT COOL).
It's hard to tell, but I'm wearing a Kohl's cropped bomber jacket, Gap V-neck pocket tee, Floral Target skirt, and very old American Eagle sandals that I'm borrowing indefinitely from my mom. My friends look pretty cute too :)

These pictures turned out so good. My friend Gaby is a great photographer, although she's way too modest.

I've noticed that all the pictures I've posted on here sort of cover my face, this is unintentional. I hate "the angles."

May First Friday

For those of you not familiar with Richmond shenanigans, First Fridays is when all the local art galleries present their new exhibitions/installations and such.

I really love how these pictures turned out. Thanks Cosima! Her poses were way better than mine, I have thing or two to learn, hehe :)
